Work We Turn Down
We work on residential garage doors: openers, springs, tracks, panels, rollers, cables. We don't do commercial roll-up doors or gate systems, and we won't quote those over the phone or in person, it's not what we run.
We also turn down jobs where the door itself has failed structurally beyond the point repair makes sense, a wood panel door from the older end of the 1938-2001 build range that's rotted through at the bottom section, or a steel door with enough rust and denting that patching one panel just means the next one goes in six months. In those cases we'll tell you straight that replacement is the honest number, not talk you into a patch job that costs nearly as much and buys you a year.
Richmond's winters aren't brutal, but the region sits in a cold-moderate climate band, and freeze-thaw cycling on an old slab or an unlevel track is a real issue on houses from the 1960s and 70s stock that make up most of the area. If your problem is the slab itself settling, that's a foundation contractor's job, not ours, we'll say so instead of trying to shim around it.
